I didn't want this review to become a "Metal Metal" vs. "Christian Metal" review. However, there no way to really avoid that entirely. I know that a lot of the readers of Fangoria are metal fans like myself. That being said I know how easy it is to dismiss a band because they've been labeled a "Christian Metal" band. Well, in the past couple of years, I've realized just how close-minded that really is. If you listen to bands like Zao, As I Lay Dying, or Demon Hunter, they don't sound anything like the "traditional" Christian bands. If you want just good heavy metal then Demon Hunter is the band for you, they just happen to have a positive message. Which in today’s day and age, can a rare positive message in metal really be a bad thing?
