A masterfully crafted film exploring man's obsession with fate
smith-1523 June 1999
Malkin has taken a simple story involving a Stain Glass Window maker and his Bible devouring pig and brought it to life. His ability to take simple moments of thought, sadness and reflection and turn them into poetic moments of cinematic ballet are seen in many parts of the film. The audience is continually rooting for the sad Stain Glass Window character brilliantly played by Gordon Capps and his prophetic pig. I think this film asks the age old question 'What's it all about?' and delivers the answer through a pig who is a far better actor than Babe, at least the pig in Dust acts like one. Thumbs up, we want to see more from Malkin.
