Co-stars Jack Bednarcik, George Garcia, Ray Huckeba, and Marvin Mullins were actual Air Force personnel who gave Joe Estevez and Gerald Cain military advice on how some of the scenes should be played. They were all assigned to the 2nd Communications Squadron when the movie was filmed on location in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Several elaborate stunt scenes were pick-up shots originally made by local Texas stunt-men for their demo reel and incorporated by the director into the film: a helicopter transfer from a moving car, an exploding building with a bad guy on fire, etc.
The voices of producer Fred Olen Ray, 2nd unit director Ted Newsom and actor John Blyth Barrymore can be heard dubbing various characters.
Mark Patrick Carducci is seen as a CIA hood for hire, with Michael Lee Baron, who also doubles as the hooded bad guy who gets blown up.
Many of the CIA assassin extras were military personnel stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base near Shreveport, Louisiana.
