The only existing print of the movie was stored at Brasil Vita Studios, founded by lead actress Carmen Santos, and it was burnt in a fire, in 1958, along with two other movies starred by her: Favela dos Meus Amores and Cidade-Mulher.
Carmen Santos spent twelve years putting together the financing and the production for this movie. She even built her own studio, Brasil Vita Filmes. When it finally premiered, in 1948, the reception from critics and the public was mild. Devastated, she never acted again.
Final film of Célia Maria.
The only film directed by Carmen Santos. Santos also acted and produced the film, a rare feat for a female artist at the time.
