Delightfully light and warm parody

Taking flight from the hit sitcom, Ned Morehead's "One Night at a Time" hits all the right notes in presenting an upbeat story Of divorcee Colleen Brennan with family and friends, having a great time, with their sexcapades presented Old School-style, in a series of concise sex scenes.

Film opens with her erotic dream of still being with ex-hubby Jamie Gillis, pleasantly having sex in bed. She's awoken by complaining daughter Karen Summer, carrying on sibling rivalry with sis Desiree Lane, both solid in jail-bait '80s roles. All three ladies are in the bathroom together, the kids primping at the mirror while Colleen takes a sexy shower.

Her wash-up is interrupted by the water shutting off, cuing a cute "Psycho" spoof, with Harry Reems popping up out of nowhere, not to knife her but instead get the water back on. They have a teasing softcore tryst before we get back to the story, as Mai Lin, wonderful in a non-stereotyped role, pops in as Brennan's amusingly meddling neighbor, setting all sorts of plot threads in motion.

She insist on treating Colleen to her masseur (she calls him a masseuse in porn-error tradition) R. Bolla, and we're treated first to a Mai Lin lesbian coupling followed by Bolla getting a lucky 3-way.

Our heroine's daughter bring home their boyfriends Shone Taylor and Steve Powers for a side-by-side foursome, followed at dinnertime with Mai Lin joining in for group sex. Mai Lin wears first white and then black wigs for fun.

Very busy sitcom continues with Randy West delivering a telegram and getting serviced by both daughters at once, and then a finale engineered by Mai Lin, in which she gets to hump Reems while Gillis returns to the fold to service his ex-wife Colleen.

Talk about a happy ending.
