Excruciatingly poor Sarno sci-fi porn -how low can you go
lor_25 January 2011
The late Joe Sarno disowned his many XXX shows, and OVERSEXED demonstrates why. This is a sad excuse for a porn video, made with as little effort as possible.

It tries quite lamely to spoof STAR WARS with Jeanna Fine as Princess Orgasma teamed up with Lord Dart Laidher, on a mission to Earth with sex on their minds. They check into an apartment building where the superintendent is of all people, Bill Landis, legendary scribe of Sleazoid Express, here fulfilling every nerd/fan's dream of getting to screw real-life porn stars and even getting paid for it! Fine, pre-boob-enhancement, is styled with a horrible two-tone Mohawk haircut, while Michael Knight is wearing a Halloween version of Darth Vader's mask and costume, and breathing heavy to be funny. He takes it off during the sex scenes.

This hideous duo's adversaries are two of the least convincing scientists you'll ever want to see: Nina Petra, with a thick Eastern European accent that garbles her expository dialog (which she recites haltingly in an amazingly bad performance) and cute Siobhan Hunter, a porn ingénue who never got a break, least of all in this stinker.

These two "doctors" have installed in their vaginas an IUDDA: "inter-uterine device for the detection of aliens". It not only does that but "comically" arouses them whenever the 2 aliens are around, which is all the time since all four are living in super Landis's boarding house.

There's no special effects in this nonsense, made on a zero budget. It is so cheap that most of the sex scenes are performed on a pull-out sofa bed, not even a real bed! Editing in the later reels is completely incompetent, though Sarno's familiar blocking and grouping of actors used in his mid-'60s softcore films is readily identifiable.

Video has no script credit at all, for obvious reasons. One dialog exchange shows how clunky it is on every level: "It's been so long...", "Light years, Lord Vader". I'm cruelly posting this review so that sci-fi completists, especially those of the bottom feeding persuasion, will feel compelled to suffer through it too. You know who you are.

There are so many nauseating moments it is hard to choose, but since I knew Bill Landis back in the '80s and often went to 42nd St. to catch rare films like THE LOVE BUTCHER or DR. BUTCHER M.D. with him it is quite depressing watching him looking around the set nervously as he does his best to hump Fine and Preta, even ejaculating on cue. RIP, Bill.

Watching the cast groan and pretend to be passionate, especially during the desultory lesbian scenes, puts the lie to Sarno's currently overrated (by sycophants) reputation for being a master of directing sex on screen.

Technical credits are miserable, with heard-a-million-times library music and rock tossed in from time to time on the soundtrack, randomly.
