Final WCW PPV appearances for Davey Boy Smith, Jim Neidhart and "Ravishing" Rick Rude. Smith landed incorrectly on one of the Ultimate Warrior's (Jim Hellwig) trapdoors and spent months in the hospital.
WCW PPV debut for the Ultimate Warrior.
After the Curt Hennig-Dean Malenko match, which Hennig won, Arn Anderson told Malenko, "It's time." Malenko had been telling Arn to reform the Four Horsemen. The following night on We Want Flair! (1998) (September 14, 1998), Ric Flair returned, as he had been kept off of TV for months due to a lawsuit from incompetent boss Eric Bischoff, marking the debut of the final version of the Four Horsemen: Flair, Chris Benoit, Malenko and Steve McMichael, with Arn as manager.
Final Fall Brawl PPV with a War Games match as the main event, due to the complete failure of the match and this show. It was billed as Team WCW ("Diamond" Dallas Page)/the Ultimate Warrior (Jim Hellwig)/"Rowdy" Roddy Piper) vs. NWO Hollywood ("Hollywood" Hulk Hogan/Bret Hart/Stevie Ray (Lash Huffman)) vs. NWO Wolfpac (Kevin Nash/Lex Luger (Larry Pfohl)/Sting (Steve Borden)), though it was actually an every-man-for-himself situation, since the stipulation was that the winner would get a shot at Goldberg's (Bill Goldberg) WCW World Heavyweight Title the following month at WCW/NWO Halloween Havoc (1998). The match, such as it was, featured Hogan leaving the cage and Warrior breaking through the cage and chasing Hogan away. DDP won by pinning Stevie Ray with the Diamond Cutter, even though War Games is supposed to be won by submission or surrender.
