Vamp (1986)

** 1/2 (out of 4)

This shot-in-NYC porno shouldn't be confused with the more popular film from 1986 with the same name. This here is a pretty low-budget film where a priest rents an apartment room hoping to understand why hookers do what they do and why guys do them. Throughout the 65-minute running time we see a variety of people into into the room where they perform various sexual acts while the priest watches. Alpha Blue Archives included this on their Dracula Triple Feature collection and I'm really not sure why. I'm guessing no one there actually watched the film because the word vamp is never said and there's never even any hint at vampires, Dracula or anything else horror related. With that said, the movie isn't nearly as bad as you might expect. It's pretty much what you'd figure you'd be watching in the 80s when it comes to homemade porn. The women, for the most part, are attractive enough and there's no question that the thing is well-filmed at least. The most famous of the cast members is certainly Ron Jeremy who appears towards the end with two women. One of the highlights of the picture is just getting to see the quick shots of New York City before it all changed. This includes a few remaining porn theaters as well as one playing CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST.
