portrait of a hero
Vincentiu26 August 2013
at first sigh, one biography who defines Soviet cinema. impressive, nostalgic, large homage and definition of values. in fact, a melancholic trip in middle of solitude. the hero as new Prometheus, Georgian military man in veils of Russian way to create biographic isles. because is little more than a portrait. the acting, the images, the music, the family and war scenes defines sensitivity of a society in search of its real legitimation. it is a Soviet eulogy to the hero of Borodino but, in same measure, an exercise for Georgian cinema to present amber image of a national hero. a picturesque film, slow poem, interesting fresco. or, only, a slice of Perestroika, with traces of old fashion epic.
