A Big Surprise

This show was an excellent night-time game show which aired on Saturday nights on ABC. Host Brad Sherwood and a camera crew would find a random person (couple, group of people) and give them one month to learn a skill and a camera to record their progress. On the night of the show, they would review their tape and come onstage to compete their challenge. If they were successful, they would win $10,000. Example challenges include a suburban family man learning to identify 31 flavors of Baskin Robbins ice cream blindfolded, a SoCal business man picking up unicycle riding, and three college roommates learning 5 juggling tricks. This was a great, clean show but didn't last long. Toward the end, the show was looking for gimmicks, like in show, a contestant was picked at random from the audience at the beginning of the show and was called back at the end (after coaching) and asked to cry on command in 30 seconds for $5,000.
