There is more drama than action in this story of a disillusioned Green Beret that has sworn a vow of non-violence. Unlike "Billy Jack"(1971) the hero here(Banner)is more prone to failure, hence more realistic. Banner is befriended by a radio talk-show host(Deacon)who is blowing the whistle on a drug cartel in a small New Mexican town. When the Radio Man is gunned down, Banner beaten, shot and left for dead, he is finally shamed into action by Deacon's daughter(Joy). Banner energizes the townsfolk to take action against the thugs, and the fight begins. Barry is good as the town sheriff, torn between greed and his sense of justice, Brownne is the introspective bar tender, Ireland the heavy and Hall the bad girl. Not a bad flick.
