The 'dream ship' sails to Columbia with a blind passenger, German rascal Eric Sommer, who scammed his way through most of the Americas in his gap year. Medicine student Ella Linne noticed and dobs to captain Parger, whom Grimm and Hanna persuade to let him work for his passage, including fetching a vital spare part at the notoriously often-closed (matrons-run) port authority. In the process Eric and Ella become friends and collaborators, rendering him mores responsible, her more aware, self-reliant and sensitive, changing both lives. Botanist Bastian Schwarzer boarded to study coffee plants, seemingly a perfect match with plantation official Anne, who goes berserk I his bed finding out he may well have got the heart of her late husband. *Attractive German-Turkish pensioner Nazim Günay has an instant crush on fellow senior widow Rose Förster, whose first name is the German equivalent of his late wife. Modern painting expert Clara Philipp accompanies a five-piece private collection of French impressionists to rich Moroccan collector Soller in Marrakech. Despite staff captain Grimm's acclimatized safekeeping help, she finds one switched. Prime suspect is her new friend aboard, Pit Manshold, self-declared investment consultant, actually a gifted forger, who rescued her when lost in the 'souk', thanked by accompanying her in the collector's palace.
