Yoji Kuri's Aos and The Bathroom are both definite eye-openers!

About a couple of years ago, I reviewed something called Love which was an abstract animated short film by Yoji Kuri. That was on the Cartoon Brew site as linked from YouTube. Now I'm commenting on another of his works that I watched from the same sources. Like the previous one, Aos is not easy to describe. I'll just say there are some moans on the soundtrack as images of what seem like disturbing sexual imagery abounds throughout the entire 9 or so minutes this short takes. Just weird but it got my attention! Also, 6 years later, this same animator made The Bathroom (which is not listed on IMDb) which is a stop-motion short using still photos mixed with some of his drawings which also have some likewise potentially upsetting imagery. Many weird electronic noises and likewise sound effects and music emanate from that one. It certainly was an eye-opener though! So on that note, if you're looking for the unusual, I highly recommend Aos and The Bathroom.
