The story of an old barbone

Warning: Spoilers
***SPOILERS*** ***SPOILERS*** Philippe Noiret acted in this film without talking too much. In fact this was a very good idea since the film was shot in Italy and the whole cast was Italian while Noiret is a French actor, who usually may understand but does not speak Italian. Noiret is a kind of forgotten person who knows the whole world but lives alone in a rented appartment. One day the owner of the appartment decided to cancel the rent and Noiret saw himself like a simple Italian Barbone (beggar without means of subsistence). A family, who used generously to take care of him, decided to take him to their apartment, where the barbone became a kind of child. In fact, this family was trying to have a baby, but did not succeed. So after some time the housewife became pregnant and his husband, obviously, became very happy with such a news, so they decided to celebrate it. At this point they three met and the "barbone- child" was informed of the good news. When he was asked whether he is also happy, he said: NO, and here the film ended. The suspense here was that everyone may expect that he will appreciate everything the family did for him and also be glad with the next birth of a child, but he reacted normally in a very egoist way, not appreciating what has been done for him. Life is often like that, and we should appreciate that this Italian film touched real events of our lives. Massimo Dapporto and Elena Sofia Ricci acted excellently.
