Basura pero Basura bien hecho(Garbage but well done garbage)

Warning: Spoilers
This review contains possible spoilers in that general info about what the main characters(the enganadas)go through is revealed. Also the fate of one characters is briefly mentioned. These are VERY general points though and one would have to watch the show to have any idea about what happens to which people as no names are mentioned in relation to plot events.

"como solia gustarme esta novela"(How I used to love this novela).

In the beginning it was very good but 3/4 of the way through it should have ended. What made this novela fail towards the end was the fact that it dragged on while no lesson was learned by 90% of the protagonists at the end. The show advertised itself as a show that was pro-women (especially towards women that had been cheated on hence the title) yet there where many times where the women are used, abused, lied to, and even physically beaten by the men in their lives and yet the men were rarely punished in the way they deserved or in a way that the real independent women of today would have punished them for their "traicion". Even worse some of the abuse the "enganadas" suffered was justified in the story as if the women deserved such treatment!!

As the story lines dragged on illogically and new characters that served as little more a plot devices were added(particularly after one of the main character's death), the show became difficult to enjoy and the realism that was developed in the first few months was slowly dissolved. The show had a GREAT start but later served simply as another avenue for real life serial "mujeriego" Andres Garcia to stroke his ego and Laura Leon to try to act.

Note that in the U.S. the tema principal(main theme) wasn't "Mujeres Enganadas" by Leon but instead the sabroso "Infiel" by Rocio Durcal, a true singer and class act something that the pleasant, fun and somewhat common Leon(now the host of a sleazy talk show) could, much to her dismay, never duplicate.

SUCH A MAGNIFICENT PIECE OF WORK.

Well this Spanish soap opera was definitely one of the best ever made. The plot, story, character, every twist and turn is memorable. As we speak they are repeating the whole soap opera in channel 41 UNIVISION, and i have to say what a great accomplishment. The cast is to die for, and their work is amazing. This is one of the most memorable and great produced Mexican soap opera of all time (the list also includes Salome, Dos Mujeres, Un Camino, Tres Mujeres, Sonadoras, El Privilegio de Amar, y Amigas y Rivales). Laura Leon, Arturo Peniche, Andres Garcia, Eric Del Castillo, Elsa Aguirre, Kuno Becker, Michelle Vieth, Johanna Benedeck, and Sabbine Mousier are such a great cast, i mean you get this kind of magic only once, and with this soap producer Emilio Larrosa made it happen. All i can say is Wow, wow, wow, wow. A truly entertaining and magical soap opera. GREAT ALL THE WAY!!!!!
