On the DVD edition that has subtitles, the subtitles get some lyrics wrong in the opening credits song. When the singer sings the words "Draggin' the line", the subtitles read "Livin' a lie". It's especially a strange goof since "Draggin' the Line" is actually the name of the song.
The movie is set in the 1970's, and as the two girls (Moonie and Lou) are driving along the coast to the bonfire place, there is a visible blue Dodge Neon parked in one of the houses. Dodge Neon was introduced the mid-1990's.
When Moonie goes to Sweeney's trailer, as she is walking through the field there is for a second the shadow of the camera operator on the ground on the right side of the frame.
In the first classroom scene the map of Canada on the wall has Nunavut listed, a Territory created in 1999.
