I feel that it is my duty to defend Maite. In the name of love, we do unimaginable things, we can go through hell and fire. Was it love or great apathy? I believe that Maite truly loves Mauricio and did all the bad things because of her love. I really liked her character, but you know, in real life I would never trust and defend such women. Of course, in this whole story, Maite was the biggest villain in everyones eyes, but the people around her allowed her to become and behave that way, and in the series there were even more terrible people than her, such as Andriana, I couldn't stand her from the first moment, so cynical and greedy. I didn't like Karina/Leonora either, I didn't understand where her love for Mauricio came from and why to hate Maite so much if she know that Maite was Mauricios fiancee in firts place. And speaking of Mauricio, why didn't he end his relationship with Maite if he stopped loving her? Secretly loving another and leaving a woman at the altar is the most pathetic thing a man can do.
In my opinion, the ending was rushed and thoughtless. Killing Gilberto's character so that Leonora is a free woman was unnecessary. I would have liked Leonora to stay with Gilberto, they were a beautiful couple with a promising future. And for Maite to return to the jungle to such a scum Carmelo - not for any money. And where she ended up? The poor thing!
