The manga artist’s name shines bright as a beacon of creative brilliance. He has left an indelible mark in the manga industry with his unparalleled ability to tell the gripping story of Goku and his friends.

Throughout the series, the mangaka has blended elements of action, humor, and emotions which have played an integral role in keeping the fans hooked to the story. However, in an industry where series like One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, and many more exist, critics often questioned Toriyama-Sensei’s creative output. To silence the critics, the mangaka came up with one unique concept that silenced everyone, who doubted his talent.

After Iron Man came out in 2008, Marvel fans were pretty much convinced that Robert Downey Jr. was the perfect fit for the character. Dragon Ball characters share something similar, which fans may realize with the arrival of Sparking Zero. They will notice if there is a change in voice behind a character. Much like the short instance that happened with King Kai’s voice during the Frieza Saga.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is said to bring in 164 characters with its roster, and the better half of them seemed to have retained their voices from the original English dub of the anime. The game is rumored to arrive by the end of this year, but nothing has been officially announced concerning it.

Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super featured Future Trunks, who quickly stood out from its vast array of characters, as he was given a few emotional moments with his father, Vegeta. His story is different from others, where he is shown how his world was eradicated by the Androids in Dbz, and again by Goku Black and Zamasu in Dbs. Despite having a tragic background, there’s no denying that Future Trunks fights for a greater cause like he did in the Cell Saga and the Goku Black Saga.

Fullmetal Alchemist by Hiromu Arakawa and Dragon Ball by Akira Toriyama are two of the biggest names in the anime and manga world. The two series have inspired many mangakas and have been a source of entertainment for millions of fans. But what many people don’t know is that the two masterpieces share an interesting connection.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (2009)
The intriguing similarity between the two is that the mangakas of both series, Toriyama and Arakawa, drew inspiration from animals for their creations. A big part of Dragon Ball, The Great Ape, is inspired by monkeys, and in the case of Fullmetal Alchemist, the Law of Equivalent Exchange is inspired by Arakawa’s experience while working on the farm with animals.
Both creators have mentioned their love for animals and how it led to them creating some of the most inspirational manga in history.

When we talk about renowned manga series in the otaku community many popular names come to our mind. The choices are vast as fans would say names of popular titles like Jujutsu Kaisen, One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Demon Slayer, and many more. However, Akutami-san’s and Oda-Sensei’s work remains on top of the charts, both mangas have broken numerous records in 2023.

Despite immense popularity, neither of the two titles claimed the spot of the most-selling manga in 2023. Much to the surprise of the fans of both series, the spot was claimed by Muneyuki Kaneshiro’s Blue Lock, and the difference between their sales is immense.

The worst characters in gaming are typically the ones these protagonists are up against. However, amid the shortage of single-player campaigns, thanks to the live service epidemic, protagonists are becoming rare in video games.
But that’s not always the case. Sometimes, protagonists can be just as annoying. The sad part is players cannot get rid of them if they like the video game they are playing. Such a dilemma.
Why Do Antagonists Have All the Hate When These ‘Pros’ Are There? Here Are the Most Hated Protagonists of Gaming
Some characters will stick with the players like glue, and while the players may want to bury them in the ground, it’s not really possible. Let’s say they are just hanging by the mercy of the video game, as players won’t be allowed to proceed further without them. We picked five of such characters whom gamers might find very lovable.

Akira Toriyama’s Decision to Abandon His Original Plans for Dragon Ball Also Changed Goku Completely
Dragon Ball is famous for its action scenes, iconic protagonist, and the classic ‘Kamehameha’ move. But did you know that Akira Toriyama began Dragon Ball as a comedy series at first? At its inception, the manga was not very popular, and Akira Toriyama was inspired by Journey to the West and Jackie Chan’s kung-fu movies.
The resulting Dragon Ball manga had a tiny Goku with a lot of gag elements. However, it started gaining popularity only after some of the battles were featured. In the end Toriyama had to change the style of Dragon Ball as well as Goku.

Cathlyn: "Retro is About Art Styles"
When we talk about retro anime, two or three things come to mind: the anime's time of release, visual techniques, and genre tropes. After all, retro anime often reflects character archetypes and distinctive art styles prevalent during the time of their production.

Energy is high again as the new Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero trailer has landed on video sharing platform YouTube. This time, it is themed ‘Master vs. Apprentice’ and showcases some unbreakable bonds we saw back in our days. It will be a nostalgic ride for many. The video features characters including Piccolo, Master Roshi, Yamcha, and more.
But the fans have their eyes turned to somewhere else. They are highlighting one feature that may make the game more interesting than ever. And if the speculation arrow is on point, then we might come to know that it is being pulled straight from another Dbz video game.
Players Would Want to Choose a Worthy Z Fighter Here
Master Roshi is among the funniest characters in the Dragon Ball universe.
Dragon Ball seems incomplete with just one-vs.-one battles. But one taking on two or even all the Z fighters is definitely the Dbz thing.

Akira Toriyama’s Goku is undoubtedly the most famous anime character ever. The character is the most unique protagonist as the character has dedicated his life to constantly breaking past his limits and coming out with a new transformation when all hope seems to be lost. While power is one of the defining traits of the hero, his pure acts of kindness, selflessness, and dedication, make him different and have helped him remain on top of the popularity list for several decades.

While Kakarot is known for his character, his most iconic trait is how Toriyama-Sensei featured transformations as a key part of the series, adding the next steps in Saiyan’s journey. While Ssj forms were Kakrot’s iconic trait, the mangaka was tired of making him look too macho. As a result, he decided to give him a new form sick of making our hero too manly.

When it comes to the legacy of Dragon Ball, canon plays a more major role than its characters. This is because even though there are so many Dragon Ball films, none of them are considered canon in the series’ universe, except Dragon Ball Super: Broly. In the series’ long run, Broly has made quite a few appearances in the series, but he became an official part of the franchise when his standalone film was released.

Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball franchise has gifted the fanatics with several iconic moments. While some were action-packed climax scenes, others left the audience in tears. The mangaka always put his soul into his work and did what he thought was best for the fans. Dragon Ball was quickly picked up by the fans and slowly became a global sensation.
With Vegeta’s debut, the dynamic shifted between Goku and him. Often, the anime had TV specials that featured a different story instead of following the main one. One of such TV specials left Akira Toriyama in tears. After watching it, he could not stop praising it, and the fans applauded it. TV Specials were considered non-canon, but Dragon Ball Z: Bardock – The Father of Goku, forced everyone to break that rule.

In 1986, when the first episode of Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball was released, no one knew that the series would become a pillar of the anime industry. Dragon Ball was the first series that introduced the anime world to a global audience, and even after 40 years, the series is still making waves.

The biggest no-brainer question in the world is probably: “Who is the strongest Dragon Ball character?” In fact, some otakus might even hunt you down if the answer is anything but Goku. Yet, what if I said that Akira Toriyama himself planned to usurp Goku’s power within Dragon Ball with none other than his own son?
Yes, the person in question is Gohan, the son of Goku and Chi Chi who has achieved many feats of strength in the Dragon Ball franchise. While he is a well-known character, Goku and Vegeta still reign supreme over hearts. But the power equation might topple once Gohan grows older.

Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball Z is still as popular as the day it was aired for the first time. The show is often seen as one of the most popular Shonen series and is primarily responsible for making anime so popular back in the day. Toriyama’s series features Kakarot as its protagonist, and a majority of Dbz is driven by him and the Z Fighters training themselves and getting stronger to stop the lifeforms that pose threats to planet Earth.

The Dragon Ball franchise has not only left a huge impact on generations of children, teens and young adults, but also on the manga industry. So, after the original Dragon Ball manga concluded in 1995, a huge vacuum was created in its place.
While many wanted to take advantage of it and further their own manga, very few could actually survive in the market. The same is true for Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece. In an interview with Weekly Shonen Jump, the mangaka opened up about the intense competition that occurred in the aftermath of Dragon Ball‘s conclusion.

TV Asahi is one of Japan’s best-known television channels, and anime fans will know it as well for its contribution to the anime market, which includes Crayon Shin-chan, Doraemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Blue Lock, Boys Over Flowers, Slam Dunk, Sailor Moon and numerous Gundam titles. But, recently, TV Asahi has decided to make a slightly different contribution to the world of anime by revealing a list of the 20 best anime songs of all time in a special program, but with a twist.
Namely, these songs were selected and ranked only by foreign, non-Japanese fans from around the world. The list includes songs from different time periods, which is why it is a very diverse list, and that is always a good thing. Sadly, we don’t have the special for you as it is not available for streaming, but we do have the list, so enjoy some of the best anime songs ever!

While anime and manga were already introduced in the United States, and shows like Astro Boy or Voltron were already popular, it wasn’t until Toriyama’s Dragon Ball successor came about that anime became a staple part of popular culture and helped lay the foundation of the current anime frenzy.

Akira Toriyama’s journey started as a mangaka rather unconventionally, but going with the flow helped him create one of the greatest shonen series in history. Having taken inspiration from the best, he managed to create his magnum opus. What once was just a one-shot story soon became an epic tale of great battles and even greater power scaling.

Akira Toriyama is the one who revolutionized the manga and anime industry. The Dragon Ball franchise set up the path for the Big Three to gain worldwide popularity and become a pillar of the business. Every hardcore anime fan knows that Dragon Ball was inspired by Kung Fu. Akira Toriyama even based one of the characters on Jackie Chan.
The mangaka was a massive fan of Kung-Fu. His magnum opus is a big proof of him being a martial arts fan. Apart from Jackie Chan, there is another famous martial artist who inspired Toriyama sensei.
His paralyzing gaze was shown through Goku while he was on planet Namek. The mentioned martial artist is none other than Bruce Lee. The Kung-Fu star was always with Akira Toriyama in his thoughts and soul.

Akira Toriyama has created Super Saiyan versions in every color of the rainbow and more. So, of course, there are transformations serving all kinds of purposes, be it speed, strength, or fusion in Dragon Ball.
With so many Super Saiyan versions available, it is only natural that some of them would follow trends set by other superheroes. This time, the comparison is between Super Saiyan Rage and Marvel’s Hulk.

While Bruce Banner learned to control the transformation over the years, the main ingredient to Hulk is still anger. Thus, the famous quote:

Note: This article was written by Jameel Raeburn. What’s the ideal starter anime? It’s the question for every anime enthusiast who is recommending a series, or an exploratory watcher curious to dive into the world of anime for the first time. However, there’s no clear answer. While anime is thankfully more accessible than it’s ever been, there are so many characters, plots, genres and themes that you might feel overwhelmed at first glance. You may turn to friends to hopefully nudge you in the right direction, but you can get thirty conflicting answers from thirty different people. The idea of what’s the perfect starter anime has been hotly debated online. In an interview with Michael B. Jordan , the actor revealed his five anime recommendations for those who haven’t watched it before. “ One Piece , Dragon Ball , Naruto , Bleach , and Hunter x Hunter ” were his responses.

When we talk about one of the most significant things about Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball franchise, Super Saiyan Jin or Super Saiyan is the first thing that comes to our mind. It was thrilling to witness Goku transform into the legendary transformation for the very first time on Planet Namek when he battled Frieza to decide the faith of the dictator. From there, Toriyama-Sensei decided to start a trend by featuring Ssj 2, SSJ3, SSJ4, Ssj Blue, and Ssj God.
Vegeta Ssj transformation
There are dozens of transformations featured in different series, including Goku’s mastered Ultra Instinct and Vegeta’s Ultra Ego transformations. However, there is one Super Saiyan transformation that can never be achieved by Kakarot and The Prince of All Saiyans. This is not a hoax as even training for millions of years in the hyperbolic time chamber with Whis or Grand Priest can’t help them achieve it.

The main character of Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball, Goku, has gone through multiple power-ups over the years, but the most interesting one among them was the fusion technique. It allowed Goku to fuse with his supporting character, Vegeta, who is also a powerful Saiyan, giving them a combination of their overall abilities and strengths.

The proper implementation of the concept of legacy is a challenging affair in Shounen manga, as is seen in some of the immensely popular titles like Naruto and Dragonball Z. Most often, the weight of the fan favorite iconic characters burdens their legacy immensely, thereby hindering their growth as individual characters. Thankfully, that’s not the case in Shaman King: Flowers, a spin-off and sequel to the original Shaman King created by Hiroyuki Takei, that focuses on the future of the series by charting the journey of Hana Asakura, the son of legendary shaman duo Yoh Asakura and Anna Kyoyama. The series relies on the world-building established in the original series but doesn’t let go of the sense of individuality it has managed to create for itself.
