This must be an April Fool joke, as it is released the first of April. There is a superfluity of action, but of the kind that fails to "get over" for laughs. The acting is not wonderful and the plot is weak and unconvincing. It is disappointing and not up to the Essanay standard. - The Moving Picture World, April 18, 1914
