Pooh As A Honey-Seeking Monster
zsofikam27 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Frankenpooh: Piglet tries to tell a not-too-scary story but Tigger decides to turn it into a scary story about the monster Frankenpooh. Frankenpooh is essentially a giant version of Pooh and walks around eerily saying "honey" in a voice similar to Frankenstein's monster, which both the title and the storyline are a reference to. It's great to see Tigger and Piglet's contrasting personalities and (Dr) Piglet chasing after a rampaging Frankenpooh never fails to make me laugh. Things That Go Piglet In The Night: I love the dark visual style in this episode and Eeyore is as funny as ever. Despite being so gloomy, he often makes me laugh and I always found his yells in this episode to be hilarious. The "did you hear that" exchange between Pooh and Rabbit is funny as well and Eeyore really gets a chance to shine. Pooh Moon: This is probably the funniest story, what with lines such as "you just grew too much popping your corn" and "the Grab-Me Gotcha! It's in my sleeping bag!" Overall: Inspiring stories, beautiful animation, great music, and funny dialogue. As always with Pooh, there is a lovely essence of sweetness and innocence, and these episodes and characters are simply timeless.

"And things that go shopping in the night"
TheLittleSongbird6 January 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I have always been a Winnie the Pooh fan, and alongside the wonderful Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, the TV series The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is my favourite. I love revisiting the episodes on the Winnie the Pooh Video Collection, and I cannot get enough of the beautiful animation, the great music with the rousing theme tune and the jaunty and moving incidental music, the droll writing and inspired wordplay, the childhood innocence and simplicity of the stories, the consistently great voice work and the timeless characters.

"Frankenpooh" is my personal favourite episode on this video. It is a very funny and atmospheric Winnie the Pooh take on the great story. I loved seeing Tigger and Piglet's personalities contrasting, Piglet being timid and Tigger boisterous and really quite hilarious. The animation is as lovely as ever likewise with the music, but what stands out for me is how well the story's told, it is so atmospheric but the innocence is still there, Tigger's "And things that go shopping in the night", Tigger and Piglet's Night/Day exchange and perhaps Gopher's longest fall yet.

"Things that Go Piglet in the Night" is a quite creepy episode, not just with the background sounds but also with the demonic voices, the yells as Eeyore tries to swing which creeped me out as a child and Eeyore's shadow. But there is still room for some funny moments, especially the exchange between Pooh and Rabbit starting with "Did you hear that". I loved the dark visual style to the episode, and I can't help but love Eeyore, he is gloomy but he does make me laugh and he has shown also that he is a true friend.

"Pooh Moon" compliments the other two episodes brilliantly and fits the theme of the video very well. It has an inspired story, again beautiful animation, all the characters especially Tigger delighting and some of the funniest dialogue of the video with "The Grab-Me-Gotcha!/It's In my Sleeping Bag! HELP! Don't let it grab me! I Surrender!/ Scaredy Cat" and also "fiddlesticks. You just grew too much popping' your corn".

Overall, a great Pooh collection and perfect for Halloween. 10/10 Bethany Cox
