Arrivée d'un bateau à vapeur (1896)
Fans of the Lumiere Brothers should enjoy this one, which comes in at just around thirty-seconds. The film opens with a look over a body of water and then a large ship enters the frame. We watch the ship come in and out of the camera frame. Obviously one shouldn't be watching a movie from 1896 and expecting any sort of plot or character development. These "actuality" movies are a lot of fun to watch today simply because they give you a chance to see how things were back in the day. The camera stays pretty much in place and there's certainly nothing ground-breaking here but if you're a fan of these types of films then you'll enjoy it.
