Burial of the "Maine" Victims (1898)

The USS Maine was a ship that sank in the Havana Harbor during the Cuban revolt and this film from Edison captures a funeral procession. This lasts just under a minute as did most films from this era and it basically has the camera set up on the street and it captures some horse-drawn carriages coming down the street as well as soldiers and of course the caskets of some of the men that were killed. Obviously there's no "story" but it's still fascinating to see this just because it captures a part of history. I always enjoy watching these older movies simply because it gives you a chance to see how things really were back in the day.
