The tale is reminiscent of "It's a wonderful life" but involves a little girl who falls in to a lake and is saved by a god who then takes her up to the clouds and shows her what the world was like before she was born and what the world would be like if she where never born. While in the clouds she meets her grandparents and a few other people she loved who have passed on.
I saw the movie while i was in Kyoto at the city hall during a short movie festival held at the museum above the city hall. It's a light movie that is great for kids and parents alike. All the Japanese people i've talked to about this movie have never heard of it. Regardless, I enjoyed it and would recommend the movie to someone out there who's looking for something a little different.
