Up till the BFI restoration (released today on a DVD/BLU Ray Combo pack) I've had a rental box VHS of this (Still of course have it) While I'd never seen another copy of it the trivia here says the below...
Only four 16mm prints of this film were made but hadn't been heard of since the 1980s. The negative had long disappeared after the lab went bust and the film was considered 'lost' with only one well worn VHS copy known to exist. However in 2022 a film print turned up on eBay and was bought for £50 by a film archivist and it is this print that had been digitally remastered and released onto DVD.
So Is My VHS' that rare?
As for the film It's a good view of the Big Yin in Belfast in the troubles showing laughter knows no boundary.
Thanks BFI for letting this back to a new audience.
And Thanks Billy for all the wonderful laughs.
