- Walt Disney: [reading the dedication for Disneyland] "To all who come to this happy place, welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here, age relives fond memories of the past. And here, youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams and the hard facts that have created America, with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world."
- Art Linkletter: This is not so much a show, as it is a special event. The rehearsal went about the way you'd expect a rehearsal to go if you were covering three volcanoes all erupting at the same time, and you didn't expect any of them. So, from time to time, if I say, "We take you now by camera to the snapping crocodiles in Adventureland," and instead, somebody pushes the wrong button, and we catch Irene Dunne adjusting her bustle on the Mark Twain, don't be too surprised; it's all in fun, and that's what we're here for.
- Art Linkletter: And, of course, there's Tomorrowland. The time of date is 1986 there. The place is the city of the future, where a trip to the moon is an everyday thing.
- Art Linkletter: Since this is a family affair, I thought you might be interested in seeing the rest of the Linkletters who are all gathered around me. And to show you exactly what happens now, I let them all take a little vote.
- [He looks down at his youngest daughter]
- Art Linkletter: Diane, you're 6. Where would you like to go of all the places in Disneyland? Pick any one.
- Diane Linkletter: To the great big castle, where Sleeping Beauty is.
- Art Linkletter: Oh, you want to go the castle.
- [He turns to his second-youngest daughter]
- Art Linkletter: Uh, Sharon, you're 8. What would you like to see?
- Sharon Linkletter: I think I'd like to go to see Frontierland, when Davy Crockett fights the Indians.
- Art Linkletter: Davy Crockett.
- [He turns to his middle child, his younger son Robert]
- Art Linkletter: Uh, Robert, what would you like to see?
- Robert Linkletter: I want to take a boat trip down the Congo.
- Art Linkletter: [to his second-oldest child, his oldest daughter] And, uh, Dawn?
- Dawn Linkletter: I think I'll take a cruise to the moon in the rocket ship over in Tomorrowland
- Art Linkletter: [to his oldest child, his older son] And Jack?
- Jack Linkletter: I want to see Bob Cummings.
- Art Linkletter: Oh, Bob Cummings.
- Walt Disney: [reading the dedication plaque for Tomorrowland] "A vista into a world of wondrous ideas, signifying man's achievements..."
- [He stops reading suddenly and turns to an off-camera technician]
- Walt Disney: I thought I got a signal.
