Waste Of Time!!!
aji4u4ever17 September 2013
Hello Brother is a total waste of time!!!

This movie shares the plot of Malayalam flick named Aayushkaalam (which is also a copy of a Hollywood- sorry, i don't remember the name of the Hollywood movie). Hello Brother fails in every aspects. Arbaaz Khan looks like a wood in the whole movie. Rani Mukherjee looks fresh in on screen. Sajid-Wajid's two songs are hummable. Especially, Chup Ke Se Koi Aayega. Screenplay would have been done better. At the least, they could have copied the whole movie "Aayuzhkaalam:. Salman Khan selection at those times, where really bad. One after the another bombed at the box office, after the successes of Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya and Jab Pyar Kisise Hota Hai.

If you want to laugh for foolishness's. Then here is your pick.!

Great Premise, Poor Presentation
GypsiB2 May 2017
Hero (Salman Khan) who works for a courier company owned by Khanna (Shakti Kapoor), is in love with his best friend, Rani (Rani Mukerji). Inspector Vishal (Arbaaz Khan) is investigating the courier company as a drug ring, and also falls in love with Rani. Vishal and Hero become entwined in an unforeseen way, and together they defeat Khanna.

This movie is ridiculous beyond compare, and is so slapstick that is hard to watch at times. Arbaaz Khan plays the straight guy well, but Salman Khan's role is so silly that it's hard to find sympathy for him. Mukerji doesn't appear enough to give a quality performance. The premise (which I won't give away) was truly great, but the presentation of it was truly terrible. Really, the only good part was watching the real- life brothers play opposite each other, and even that couldn't raise this movie to anything beyond mediocre.

worst
silvan-desouza27 September 2009
You need a brain of a 2 yr old and lots of patience to watch such a film

It is so bad that it makes even the worst films look classics

Some classic gems of this film Salman Khan acting like a small 5 year old, he jumps around, dances and does all weird stuff which we could scold our small children for doing

Arbaaz Khan, he makes me laugh when he is funny not for the right reasons

Razzak Khan who transforms to some funny buddha standing on his leg wtf and then Neeraj Vohra who leaves gas

Damn the film is a classic of how not to do a film

Sohail Khan the priveliged brother of Salman who lacks talent as an actor or anything else after the supercrazy yet successful and entertaining PKTDK brings the worst film on earth

The film starts with Salman singing in his own voice CHAANDI KI DAAL which is horrible and his acting is worse then it

The special effects are bad, comedy is horrible and direction is very bad

Sohail Khan's direction is very bad Music is okay

Salman Khan oh my god im gonna go crazy to think what to call him in this film, Arbaaz is horrible Rani Mukherjee is just there in the film Johny is funny in parts horrible in many Neeraj Vohra is okay Shakti Kapoor is as usual

No Thanks Brother!
rajivgill24 August 2001
Warning: Spoilers
A peon (Salman) discovers drugs in the package he's delivering for his boss. Being loyal, he informs the latter of this, only to realize that his beloved boss (Shakti Kapoor) is actually a drug lord. To guard his dark secret, Kapoor kills Salman. His heart is donated to a police officer who was shot in an encounter(Arbaaz Khan). He thus returns as a ghost and haunts Arbaaz, so the latter can help bring his murderer to justice.

The plot sounds promising enough, but due to too much slapstick humor, bad scripting and bad directing, Hello Brother fails to impress. Fairly good acting by Rani and Arbaaz, but Salman irritates to the core. He keeps on rambling in a high-pitched voice! God, tell him to stop already.

The songs aren't too bad, but Teri Chunariya sounds highly similar to Odh Li Chunariya from Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya. For some reason, Rani doesn't look as gorgeous as she normally does, in this film. I guess it's just the bad script getting to her.

Anyone from younger generation won't enjoy
designercandlesu7 January 2021
You had to be a teen at that time to love this movie. It was made for that time's audience and it is a go to for me and my sis. We loved it during the first time watch and still do. Teenage memories for us. The stupidity and the silliness is what's the best about it. The sense less comedy and illogical scenes!. But it is something I still can watch in my late 30s and have a great laugh, even by myself. Caught it again on Netflix today and thoroughly enjoyed.

Very Good

Humor you don't see very often.

Arbaaz was great. Salman was very funny Dialogues were out of this world in a good way Overall a well spent movie. this is a movie i would see again and again.Rani was good for a new comer at that time. Salman takes control throughout the movie and the inspector is very funny and so is johnny lever. watch the movie if you want humor. But i will admit that this movie will be very enjoyable for kids. The music is very nice and i think the sound effects are rather funny too. If you feel the need to take the edge off and just have a good old laugh then this is the movie you should definitely pick without doubt And the movie is for everyone except for a lil story based on drugs otherwise its a wholesome family movie. Go for it!

Cult snapshot of timeless comedy 😎
sulemanashiq214 July 2021
It's almost 22 years and I still find this film as refreshing as the first time I watched it on Doordarshan in 2003. Afterwards, I've rewatched it bazillion times and enjoyed it a lot. To me, Hello Brother is the cult snapshot of innocent and timeless comedy, sets in a world that never exists in reality. It takes me away from the rollercoaster of life and alleviates stress and depression.

In this review, I will not defend this film as Salman Khan himself declared his dislikeness towards the content but I found out this film extremely funny, the chemistry between Salman, Arbaaz, Johnny, Neeraj Vohra, and Razak Khan was impeccable, the action sequences were hilarious and the screenplay was mind blogging. It was a film made with a good heart. Humour doesn't need logic and so does Hello Brother 😀, It's a free ride to Funland, the good old times.

After the magical spell of "Pyar Kiya tu Darna Kya", Sohail tried to present another story of sweetness & innocence with the stroke of supernatural comedy with cheap thrills, and in my opinion, he was successful as Hello Brother was the most likable film of our school life. We as a kid loved Hero aka Salman Khan and now as a Youngman, I want to have the childish and positive attitude of a hero in my life. I am critical but sometimes I want to lose myself and laugh out hard at battles of life. I want to defeat the trolls and stand out. So, thank you Sohail Khan for making the world of Hello Brother, It's a perfect escape from reality for at least 2 hours and 13 minutes.

I known the film was bombed at the box office but I always had a good time while watching this especially with my wife though Salman was overacted but we laughed at his comical act, he was matchless. Arbaz, Johnny, and Neeraj complimented him with their sarcastic performances with equal melodies and a catchy soundtrack.

Last Word:

Cult & all-time favorite comedy, a trapdoor to innocence and madness for the generation and kids of 1990s.

Wonderful movie
sangeetakumar-0605828 March 2024
I liked the movie very much, it has a lot of comedy, the story is very good and the action too.there was overacting in a few scenes but, also made me laugh, anyways it was a lot of fun.

Some of the songs in the movie are wonderful, so many that I can't even express them in words. I think the song "teri chunariya" is the best song ever, so much so that I keep listening to it again and again. The visuals of this song and the tune that plays behind it are very captivating. It means that Himesh Reshammiya has done excellent composing behind this song. The whole movie is very cool, there is a lot of comedy and according to me, it is a cult classic comedy movie.
