This Educational Comedies one-reeler is all about Walter Catlett in his obnoxious mode as he somehow imposes himself completely on Al St. John and Dorothy Granger as they go on their honeymoon. Dorothy never seems to notice anything odd about this situation -- which renders it all the funnier -- while Al St. John builds up quite a head of steam in what amounts to a ten-minute slow burn, worthy of Edgar Kennedy at his best.
This was directed by Al's uncle, Roscoe Arbuckle under his directorial pseudonym William Goodrich, which he had languished under since he was acquitted of murder, in order not to offend the morals of the world or corrupt motion pictures. One sometimes wonders what would have happened had he been found guilty.
It's one joke with a nice set of variations and ten minutes is just the right length to keep it bizarre and funny without becoming repetitive. It was too bad that Arbuckle couldn't perform on the screen, but he turned out a lot of fine movies as director in this period.
