This was one of the first animations done by the great Bruno Bozzetto. Even when there is some clear influence from the UPA shorts (Particularly in what concerns to the visual aspect and the comedy style) the result is still something fascinating, being funny, clever, and even cute at moments.

It is worth noticing that some of the many recurring elements from the future animated film and shorts directed by Bozzetto appear here in a more subtle manner, such as the combination of humor, some sadness and irony, making also a very good point about how sometimes humans expect the last years of their life in order to start making things right.

The end was a bit sad, in comparison with the light-hearted tone of the rest of the short, but it also serves as an effective and (in my opinion) meaningful conclusion, rather than just being an amusing (albeit very well made) gag animation.

Definitely worth-watching.
