A gentleman returns home after a night on the tiles, salutes the suit of armor , and collapses into a chair. A woman in a nightgown -- presumably his wife -- comes down, puts on the armor's helmet, and beats him severely with a bat.
What can one say about this "practical joke" comedy? That he deserves punishment for coming home late and drunk? Yes he does. Does he deserve to be bashed until he collapse on the floor. It seems unlikely. However, that's what makes it a comedy; ladies are not supposed to do that, no matter how much their husbands may deserve it.
Given its primitive nature, both cinematically and in terms of sense of humor, I didn't care for it.
