Routine First Half, Pretty Good Second Half
This short comedy has a rather imaginative second half that is pretty good, and that at any rate is good enough to make up for a generally plain first half that has little to offer. The first part has an unnecessarily involved story line, with only a few scant moments of worthwhile gag material. It seems to have been contrived solely in order to set up the last few minutes.
After the story has gone to unnecessary lengths to set things up, the two main characters find themselves involved in a complicated and hazardous predicament on a hillside. Though played mostly for laughs, the situation itself combines both humor and suspense. It's easy to see why the writers tried so hard to set it up, but the movie probably would have worked better if they had not spent so much screen time on routine material just to set up the key situation.
