Candice Bergen Wants To Stay Away From The TV Academy
Actress Candice Bergen has declined an open letter in a Hollywood trade paper asking her to jump into the politics of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (ATAS), the group that presents the annual Emmy awards. Bergen, a multiple Emmy winner and daughter of the academy's late co-founder Edgar Bergen, has stated she has no interest in getting politically involved with the academy hierarchy. Bergen, who is now based in New York with her husband Marshall Rose and her daughter, has been enjoying the benefits of a lightened workload of late. She won't be continuing her talk show on American cable TV station Oxygen called Exhale With Candice Bergen and though she has the movie A View From The Top with Gwyneth Paltrow and Rob Lowe wrapped, she has no film assignments in the pipeline.
