An enjoyable tribute to a unique comedian
I was only lucky enough to see Chic Murray's stand-up comedy once during his lifetime but it was unforgettable and I was delighted to find this video.
Unfortunately, most of Chic's work was performed live and is lost forever. Thankfully some of his classic work is preserved here, alongside appreciations and commentary by his friends (including Billy Connolly) that don't hide the difficult side of his nature.
Chic Murray's humour is surreal but firmly grounded in real-life. He goes to a wedding where the reception doubles as the bride's birthday party, complete with candles on the wedding cake: "I don't know how old she was but the heat was *desperate*!"
If you've never come across Chic try this video. Laughter is well worth the effort.
