The gambler's wife left her baby with the miner from whom her husband had stolen a bag of gold-dust; the baby girl was "better than gold." Years pass and the girl grows up into a well educated young lady, the ward of Jim the miner, who is also a priest (played by Mr. Pollock). Miss Margarita Fisher plays the remarkably contrasted roles of aged mother of the girl, "Denver Jean," and Janette, the girl just home from the convent. The story told by the picture seems hardly to justify itself on account of its slightness. Miss Fisher's double impersonation is the picture's chief point of interest. The photographs are good, but most of the scenes are studio pictures. - The Moving Picture World, March 30, 1912
