Combination man
I think it has been at least 8 years since I first watched Victor Borge. I cannot even begin to write all of Victor's talents. In just 80 (or so) minutes, he shows he is master of classical and crazy music, intellectual and slap-stick humor, and pure, people genius. At least for me, Victor connects with his audience. I think only my Grandpa has ever lost interest (went to sleep) when watching... and that was when Victor played Clair de Lune all the way through- go figure. I have two dvds of Borge, this one, and Victor Borge: Then and Now. They each have parts that are similar (ex. Phonetic Punctuation, Mozart Opera, etc.) but I still wonder how Victor comes up with so many acts. Everything he does is brilliant. I love his humor even though it takes me a month to figure out some of it. He is so quick.
I think most people would find Victor Borge extremely entertaining. The dvds are perfect for anytime. I don't think no one is too old or too young for Victor's acts.
I know that no one is perfect and even Victor has drawbacks. The most obvious with the two dvds I have is that they are not the greatest sound and picture quality. Possibly no one thought they should take time to improve the DVD quality since few people even know who Victor Borge is. Also, there are a few times when Victor seems to forget his next words but it is rare.
This is probably the best DVD to get to know Victor. If you do not know Victor, you should. I voted 10 out of 10 because the overall combination of such amazing talent blurs out the bad DVD quality.
