Just saw it and got to say Michaels part in it is very short but very nice!

Michael plays James he is about to ask the girl he is with to marry him and i think she pretty much gets this and asks him to read his fortune instead! He opens up a fortune cookie and then has ring out but then stops there with mr fortune standing up and smiling!

Michael looks fantastic in it and wish there was more of him in scene :)

Very glad i was finally able to see this short film!

Like i said wish more Michael but scene he was in enjoyable, this was filmed in year 2000!

Warning: Spoilers
Mr. Fortune's Smile is a great story with a heartwarming happy ending. It leaves the viewer with a smile much like those on the faces of Mr. Fortune (Colin Foo) and his niece Joan (Jennifer Lin). Mr. Fortune and Joan plot to bring the happy couple together via a fortune cookie. This results in James(Michael Shanks) popping the question to Mary (Michelle Harrison). The casting is perfect as all of the actors were superb in this excellent film. We get the feeling all along that James really wants to spend the rest of his life with Mary. But James just hasn't mustered up the nerve to go through with it. The chemistry between James and Mary is magical and the audience gets roped in fast to wanting to see these two live happily ever after. Look for recognizable characters in the "background" as this film was filled with a top notch cast!
