Should be in the TV Hall of Shame!

To be fair, "Doctor" Laura didn't spew her usual homophobic rhetoric on her TV show like she does on her radio program. However, the show was still a complete crapfest. Given its low-ratings, it would seem only insomniacs, media watchdogs (like me), and complete morons were watching. The program consisted basically of an unqualified host (her doctorate is not a medical or psychology degree), paid audience members, and phony guests. While she avoided the gay issue, she still did plenty of hypocritical moralizing, including condemning relationships between people of different religions. Thankfully, the show barely lasted a season.

Let me just say that I never had anything against Laura for her controversial remarks about lesbians; I think it was other comments (and events) which took away her credibility and that was a long time ago.

That said, (without any hard feelings) her talk show is not interesting. Like her radio show we're given the "whatever you like it or not" approach, which doesn't do anything but annoy (it certainly won't attract new viewers.) What sets Laura apart from other talk show hosts is a matter of bias. Say, she talks about the legitimacy of school prayer and after the commercial break a poll (which came out of nowhere) shows 60% in favor of it. Thus, she explains "organized prayer in schools is good for our children because it makes them moral and scrupulous." Yeah, well about the con of that? "None of our children should be forced to do something against their will, and the separation of church and state should not be overturned."?

What's most disturbing however is that she has no qualifications to have a "Dr." before her name.(She's not really a psychologist!) The real life Laura Schlessinger has a degree in Physiology (no more, no less) which is the degree needed to be a P.E. teacher at a high school or middle school.

This show is one of the worst shows of 2000, boring plot, silly subjects, and stupid music theme, And dr. laura is not a real psychologist, she's a fake, If you want a real talk show watch dr. phil, he's far superior to this garbage.
