good film to foster discussion on date rape
prschroeder18 February 2005
As one of those health teachers, I will say that although my 9th graders groan at several lines of dialog, other lines of dialog are "spot on" perfect, like when the older boy is sweet talking and manipulating the younger, impressionable girl. And though the girl is never to blame in these situations, we have a nice discussion of all the mistakes she made, and all the warning signs she ignored that led to the (date) rape. Though this film is dated, it is a helpful film on an important subject.

As far as acting and production values, the acting is neither outstanding or horrible, it doesn't call attention to itself in either respect so it is fine. Also, there is an added bonus or point of interest with Lori Loughlin starring in the film as she currently is featured in a TV show that is on (as of 2005) and recognized by many of the students.

A Sex-Ed Teacher's Best Friend
dragoneyez0122 March 2003
Back in 7th grade I remember being forced to watch this movie by my sex ed teacher. She'd apparently taped the movie off some TV network (which was playing the movie during some spring break moviethon). Video quality was poor, but that didn't provide any sympathy to the viewers.

The people who cast this movie must've thought a series of 80s B-actors could save it, but, they didn't. Dana Barron (who was really funny in 'Vacation'), Bonnie Bedelia ('Die Hard'), Lori Loughlin ('Full House' series), and Chad Lowe (Rob Lowe's brother) couldn't help pull this movie above the horrible mush it is.

The actors are very monotone, the dialogue very unrealistic, and the director must be on a street corner begging for pennies right now. The plot was extremely complicated and unrealistic. Chad Lowe is brother to Dana Barron. Barron goes out with Chad's best friend. Chad's best friend tries to have sex with Barron. Barron doesn't. Chad is p***ed at Chad. And so on and so forth. The screenwriter of this must've been practicing up for a soap opera.

Avoid like the Plague... if you can even find this movie.
