this is a remarkable vignette

This is a short film (22mins) that I saw over 20 years ago as an opener to a feature film, and I cannot forget the impressions it made. The idea of a busy executive, already short on time, making a choice that leads to unexpected seduction into a world of extraordinary service and delight that transforms his experience of living and connects him to his humanity, and disrupts his plans and intentions was--and is to this day--powerful. I want to try to get a copy of this film. It is so worth watching. I read another persons comment that it had no plot, I don't know how the plot line can be missed, unless the viewer only has eyes for the formulaic and predictable.

A film about transformation and what we lose when we are too busy to take and make time

This is a delightful movie, with a dream cast. John Cassavetes and everyone involved in the production both behind & in front of the camera deserve applause. It's "Alice In Wonderland" / ironic observation about just how "important" time is stands in 2005, just as it did in 1982.

And they all worked for FREE. 2 Day shoot.....One of the 1st AFI American Women In Film grants......an AMAZING little film....watch it and remember 35mm,Steenbecks, and the great people who contribute what they have to offer and give to struggling filmmakers because they believe in "small" projects, and are willing to take chances in spite of the backlash of petty criticism which inevitably comes from seekers of High Concept With Topspin, and multi Pic Pcks=Mega bucks.

What is the Point in Watching This?
Cyber25670200026 April 2003
A man in the record business has a meeting in 15 minutes and decides to get his hair cut before he goes. The barbershop does more than just give haircuts. They serve wine, and shine shoes, and make you feel like a king. I can't really say much more because there really isn't anything left to say. There is NO plot in this movie. It makes no real sense... and it tries to be funny, but is not very sucessful. There is nothing special or fun about it and it just isn't worth watching. The only good thing about it is that it is short. The Bangles are in it for a few second cameo. BOMB
