Five of the stars in attendance that night were cast members from an all-star movie soon to be released, The Swarm (1978)--Michael Caine, Richard Widmark, Lee Grant, Fred MacMurray and the guest of honor Henry Fonda.
The only shared credit of Charles Bronson and Jack Klugman, who many years before upon their arrival in Hollywood had been actual roommates, as a real-life "Odd Couple" long before Neil Simon's play. Also in attendance were Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau, of course the stars of the original movie version (The Odd Couple (1968)), which preceded Klugman's role in the popular original TV series version (The Odd Couple (1970)) opposite Tony Randall.
