You Can't Get Good Help When You're A Bad Boss
boblipton1 February 2020
Two clerks stop playing cards and look busy when the boss comes in. As soon as he is behind his screen, reading the paper, they go back to his game. They stop when a pretty woman enters, to be directed to the boss. The clerks don't go back to their game. Instead, they look over the screen as the boss engages in in some non-commercial business.

Simple and mildly humorous in its depiction of what goes on in business, this is one of a series of films by James White with a named character, Jones, who, in another, similarly named movie, is carrying on with his cook. For its length, it's busy and varied enough in its actions to be good, although the modern viewer may find it obvious.
