Set during the background of the 30 year terrorist war in Northern Ireland involving Republican terrorists (whose objective was to achieve a United Ireland free from British rule, and who had support from the Catholic population) and Loyalist terrorists (whose objective was to strike back against Republicans and the Catholic population who sympathised with them) with the British Crown Forces (Police and Army obliged to maintain law and order). This is the story of "forbidden" love between two young men from the devoutly Unionist and Protestant Shankill Road area of Belfast who pursue love interests with two Irish Catholic nurses working in the nearby Belfast City Hospital, often with hilarious consequences.
This series was excellent. I taped on VHS but now the video's are worn and a bit tatty. I would love to have the 18 episodes on DVD. Anyone any ideas of where to buy. Myself and my wife enjoyed every episode of this light hearted, very funny and 100% entertaining series. I have loaned out the video's to many people who were really impressed with it. I was impressed with all actors, especially Alex and Soup, who made a special partnership for me, the best I thought they acted in together was the time Alex was trying to make Carol Mercer jealous by saving Septa from a couple of thugs. His Kung Fu and whatever else he had made up was acted out of this world. I loved it all.
