Good riddance to Ellie!
kfboyde21 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
She's unattractive, elitist, and so condescending! Like Peter doesn't help the lost and vulnerable. Gosh, so glad he's rid of her. She wants a slave. Love the series though. This one's as good as the rest of them but Ellie leaving is the best part!

Election selection

Probably the best story in series 5 and far more plausible then the previous chapter.

A cast of familiar faces and a return for Ellie with Rosie Millar making her final appearance as Rosie. Other cast members bow out too.

The script is good but does seem to plod on at times but worth a watch.

Just 42 shows left in my Binge-watch now.

Cracking end to series 5.
Sleepin_Dragon8 March 2024
Judge Jerry Chance is killed, leaving behind wife Christina, who's trying to win a place at The European Parliament. Andy soon discovers that the prime suspect has friends in high places.

Quality episode, a great end to the series, and after suffering the torment of previous episode, Foreign Bodies, the series really did get back on the rails, it's a quality mystery, political shenanigans, gay lovers, top business corruption, it's got a lot going on.

I have to say the best thing is perhaps the end of Ellie, she's been a pretty dislikeable character since the start, she's bitter, she's selfish, she wants someone to control, he's better off rid of her.

Some terrific performances here, Warren Clarke well and truly steals it, that scene where he blows his top is a very memorable moment, the likes of Michael Maloney, Celia Imrie and David Westhead are all excellent.

9/10.
