Actress Lisa Ray, a cancer survivor, says she feels much more comfortable in her own skin than ever before as she talks about the true definition of beauty after experiencing life from a much wider spectrum.
Talking to reporters during the launch of her book titled "Close To The Bone" on Monday, the 47-year-old actress said, "...I am most comfortable in my skin now than ever before. Ironically, I think I am most attractive at 47 rather than when I was 16 years old. Of course, I had a great body but I had so distorted view of my body that I felt so ugly and insecure all the time."
Lisa, born to a Bengali father and Polish mother, became an overnight sensation as a model when she appeared on the Bombay Dyeing advertisement in the 1990s. Later in 2001, she made her debut in Bollywood as an actress with the film "Kasoor".

Lisa Ray is one celebrity actor who needs to be quoted when it comes to the terms like ageless beauty, a fighter, an inspiration and the hottest diva ever. The Indo-Canadian actor made her Bollywood debut in 2001, with ‘Kasoor’ opposite Aftab Shivdasani. Although her acting career didn’t do much wonders for her but her ‘Style Diva’ image surely turns tables.

If familiarity breeds contempt then anonymity should breed comfort. With this premise in mind; many have flocked to Internet chat rooms, are hooked on Whatssapp and Facebook, finding solace, companionship and on occasions even sexual satisfaction from virtual strangers who may be using fake aliases. That is the idea behind Vikram Bhatt’s web series Maaya which will kick-start Vb on the Web, his very own free-to end-users (read viewers) web channel which he is launching in collaboration with Samir Pitalwala’s Culture Machine in October.

It is a given in films directed by Vikram Bhatt. Either the leading man or the heroine or both have their voices dubbed by other artistes. In Kasoor actress Divya Dutta dubbed for Lisa Ray while another artiste dubbed for Divya as she had role in the film. In Raaz Bipasha Basu voice was dubbed. Many of the heroes in Bhatt's films have their voices dubbed by the director. The situation is somewhat sticky tricky and icky in Mr. X the latest creation of the Bhatts. While the leading man Emraan Hashmi speaks in his own voice, the leading lady Amyra's voice has been done way with. Says a source, "Vikram loves to dub his artistes in voices other than their own. Vikram has dubbed for Dino Morea in Raaz, Aftab Shivdasani in Ankahee and so many others. It was impossible for Vikram to dub Emraan as he is a popular face and voice.

In early years of her career, she may have gone 'Sexy Sexy Sexy Mujhe Log Bole' or 'Sarkaile Lo Khatiya' with aplomb. However, Karisma Kapoor is sure that her comeback vehicle would be as clean as possible even though the director at the helm of affairs, Vikram Bhatt, has announced loud and clear that 'creating sensation' is the name of the game today in Bollywood. Dangerous Ishq promises to 'sensationalize' affairs as well though, the director as well as the leading lady is on the same page that 'erotica' won't have any place for that here. Dubbing for artists who are foreign to the language is a long standing habit of Indian cinemas. We’ve taken the easier route rather than getting the actress or actors to train and speak for themselves. This has been something that has applied to foreign actors from time immemorial even though they may just be as foreign as being from another state. Sridevi was dubbed in her initial years. More recently I currently reigning female super Katrina Kaif has been dubbed for 99% of her films. Sadly the dubbing route is taken not only for foreign actors but actors whose voices the director clearly doesn’t want in the film. John Abraham and Dino Morea have been dubbed over and over again in their various Bhatt ventures. Vikram Bhatt was quoted once saying that Aftab’s voice in Kasoor and Ankahee wasn’t what was required of a character and thus...

Aftab Shivdasani
He?s almost 33 years old, but actor Aftab Shivdasani is still often referred to as the ?Farex baby?. The baby who became a child actor played his first lead role as a teenager in Ram Gopal Varma?s Mast followed by roles in Kasoor, Awara Paagal Deewana, Hungama, Masti, Daddy Cool and Aloo Chaat, among others. In 2009 he turned producer with Aao Wish Karein and then disappeared, only to reappear this month in an ensemble comedy called Bin Bulaye Baarati.
In between promoting his film and nursing a finger injury he suffered during the ongoing Celebrity Cricket League, Aftab talks to Udita Jhunjhunwala about the past, present and future
What is your latest film, Bin Bulaye Baarati, about?
I play Aditya, a lovable crook in love with Shreya (Nisha Kothari) who happens to be the daughter of a policeman (Om Puri). I am on the run from both the cops and some gangsters.

The award for most 'Underrated Actor' over and over again has been given to Aftab Shivdasani by fans and admirers. He was a Rgv debutant who wooed the ladies with Mast and later went onto impress the critics with Kasoor. However, what poor Aftab could never do is win the box office lotto! While the actor was part of some hits such as Masti and Awara Paagal Deewana, he's yet to have a solid blockbuster he can call his own.
2011 may just be the year for the actor who has returned from a yearlong break, which he says, was an important decision as every creative person needs a break to reinvent themselves. The actor now returns with Chandrakant Singh's (Rama Rama Kya Hai Drama) film Bin Bulaye Baarati. He's already started shooting for the film and is very psyched about it.
