"Bedara Kannappa" is one of the Greatest Film in the history of Kannada Cinema. This was the first Film of Dr. Rajkumar, which marked the beginning of an era. The film's plot revolves around Kannappa, a hunter who is extremely devoted to Lord Shiva.
Dr. Rajkumar has delivered an outstanding performance as Kannappa, and in his First Film itself he has breathed life into the character, which very few in the History of Cinema has done.
Even Narasimharaju's acting is amazing, demonstrating his skills as a comedian. Interestingly "Bedara Kannappa" was not just the First Film of Dr. Rajkumar, it was also the First Film of Narasimharaju. GV Iyer shines in the role of an antagonist. Actually the entire cast deserve accolades for their stellar performances, making every character memorable. Also one more thing that needs to be mentioned is all the characters have been developed quite well.
The Script is based on the Folklore of Kannappa. The narrative is beautiful, and GV Iyer, who made his debut as Screenplay Writer has done a very good job, and his Screenplay keeps the story engaging, and the brisk narration pace ensures the involvment of the audience.
HLN Simha's Direction is excellent. Cinematography is outstanding, and even the editing has been done quite brilliantly.
The music, composed by R. Sudharsanam features amazing songs, out of which Shivappa Kayo Thande stands out.
"Bedara Kannappa" is a Cinematic treasure, and a masterpiece.
