Warning: Spoilers
***SLIGHT SPOILERS*** There are some softcore movies that you fast-forward through, stopping only when there's a love scene or some naked flesh to see. Sometimes the story is that boring and the characters that dull. But not in the case of Girl for Girl, a movie that somehow wraps an impressive cast around an interesting story and (gasp!) actually manages to make us care about the characters even when they aren't spread eagle naked in front of us.

Now don't get us wrong, folks. There is a feast of flesh on display here, and almost wall to wall sex scenes. And god bless 'em, they even threw in a threesome...and an interracial threesome at that! Yes, the thermostat does reach the red zone in this film and stays there for most of the time.

Sebastien Guy and Jack Lincoln star as Jeff and Ben, two young internet entrepreneurs who are about to go public with their successful dot. com company and score some big time $$$. Ben is getting deeply involved with the lovely Caitlin (Kelli McCarty), a yoga instructor who wants to start her own line of studios. And Jeff finds himself falling for the seductive Sara (Tracy Angeles), the company's latest spokemodel, who seems to only have eyes for Jeff's pocketbook. The two men conspire to test their lover's fidelity and intentions by having each other attempt to seduce the other guy's girlfriend. This seems to be an easy enough task, but soon turns into a complicated mess of infidelities and hidden secrets that threaten both their friendship and their business. As twist after twist develops we find ourselves becoming more and more interested in these characters, who also find the time to dabble in some fine erotic escapades along the way...which is a very good thing.

A nice side story involves two other employees of the company, Rayna and Glen (Flower Edwards and Peter Gaynor), who provide some comic relief with their bet about who can score four times in the week before the company goes public. Each agrees to forfeit 20% of their impending fortune to the winner, and Flower promptly escorts the lucky UPS deliveryman into the closet for a good head start. When the two of them finally get together it is both sweet and rewarding after the building sexual tension that has developed between them.

My one regret was the music mix, which often rose above the sounds of the lovemaking. This can sometimes lift a viewer right out of a scene by being a bit of a barrier; we can see things happening but we can't hear things happening.

One thing I liked about this move was that the scenes took their time. We get to see the performers undress for a change, instead of the ol' kiss and then POOF! they're naked and humping in the bed. Lots of passionate kissing added nice erotic touches to many of the scenes. Definitely a good film for couples to watch together.

Director John Quinn and the folks at Indigo have covered a lot of bases here, with a movie that is both .

An all-around great softcore flick.....A+
Smooth B3 June 2003
Warning: Spoilers
"Girl for Girl" was exactly what I look for in a softcore skin flick--good looking women, watchable storylines, and plenty of sex going on. I liked the fact that the six principal characters all had storylines that led somewhere.

Jeff and Ben are business partners and best friends. Ben has a girlfriend, Caitlin (Kelli McCarty). Jeff is a guy with lots of money and nobody to spend it on but himself. He interviews a woman named Sara (Tracy Ryan) to be the company's spokesmodel, but is instantly attracted to her.

The story now comes into place--Ben asks Jeff to hit on Caitlin, just to see if she'll take the bait. He's worried that Caitlin isn't faithful. Jeff does hit on Caitlin, but she refuses his advances. Jeff ends up moving Sara into his house, and then she starts asking for money for this and money for that. He suspects Sara only wants him for his wealth, so he asks Ben a similar favor--take Sara out on the town and spend lots of money on her and see if she'll fall for him. After a mere burger and fries at a greasy spoon, Sara and Ben end up sleeping together; definitely not how it was supposed to go.

Meanwhile, the two office workers, Paul and Rayna (played by Flower), have a bet going. In order to settle a dispute on whether men or women can have sex with the least emotional attachment, the make a bet on who can have sex four people the fastest in two weeks. Rayna gets a head start by sleeping with the delivery guy in the back room soon after the bet is made. "We're going to have sex," she says to the guy, "but only this one time."

Spoilers are coming, consider yourself warned.

Eventually, Caitlin finds out that Ben slept with Sara after Ben tries to hustle her out of the office but mistakenly hands her Sara's purse instead of her own. Caitlin, who by now has resisted all attempts by Jeff to get physical, practically throws herself at Jeff. He puts up minimal resistance before giving in and having sex with her. Paul's digital camera captured the whole thing, and the next day while Paul and Rayna were watching it, Ben sneaked a peek and gets angry. Jeff also finds out a secret Caitlin's been hiding from Ben; there seems to be a reason she doesn't want to ask Ben for any cash. Soon enough, Jeff finds out Ben slept with Sara and Sara finds out Jeff slept with Caitlin. This leads Sara to Caitlin's house, where we get our quote of the movie:

Sara: I know you slept with Jeff.

Caitlin: And I know you slept with Ben. So what do we do now?

Sara: Catfight??

Priceless stuff there. Anyway, Paul and Rayna both realize their bet was a mistake; all Paul wanted anyway was Rayna (and who wouldn't? I mean, Flower looks fantastic.) They have sex, of course. Everyone else agrees to "put the past behind them" and get back together, making for a very happy ending. This was a great film from beginning to end. If you like Skinemax flicks, you'll surely love this one. Definitely tapeworthy.

Women: A (Kelli McCarty had long hair in this movie, but I just saw her a couple of days ago in "Desire and Deception" with short hair. Oh well, this look is better anyway. Flower moved up a couple of notches in my Top 10 with her performance, and Tracy Ryan was great. By far the best film I've seen Tracy in.)

Sex: A (I've seen both the R-rated version and the unrated version, but the "Sex" grade is for the unrated version. A healthy amount of sex scenes, and they were all quite good. Flower undressed is always a good thing.)

Story: A+ (Kudos go out to Leland Zaitz, the writer of this flick, for putting together a screenplay that was worth the paper it was written on. Every character had something to do (and someone to do), not to mention a fair amount of storyline progression and character development. Although the dialogue got a bit too sappy at times, it was still quite good.)

Overall: A+ (This is the prototypical softcore film. Hot women, hot sex, and a good plotline. I stood up and clapped my hands when this one was over. It's a shame there aren't more skin flicks of this kind of quality.)

Kelli McCarty is great!!!
jhelmut19 September 2001
The movie was pretty good, partners not trusting their girlfriends (Kelli McCarty and Tracy Ryan) so they ask each other to test the girls loyalties. Kelli looks great in her scenes and Tracy is hot as always. Definitely worth a look. If you like these two another movie to see is House of Love.

The edited version is a waste of time
Sam-28515 February 2003
The women in this movie are the most gorgeous I have seen and expect to ever see in adult style movies. They would be quite entertaining in regular movies with their clothes on.

I must have seen the edited version of this movie since in the version I saw we see so little of the women with their clothes off. Even Flower (who is definitely not shy about her body) seems shy.

Yes there is a story and the acting is as good as can be expected, probably better. The story however depends too heavily on the morality of cheating. In my opinion for a movie such as this we would prefer to not be burdened with the morality in this story.

I don't know if my comments will help anyone else but I sure want to be reminded to not waste my time.

Oh but those women are beautiful. If there is an unedited version and if that is not the version I saw then I sure do want to see the unedited version.

Keli Mc Carthy at her best looking form!. Overall a great soft core sex flick.
insomniac_rod11 February 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Surprisingly, one of the best soft core sex flicks from the past 7 years. "Girl For Girl" delivers what fans of soft core expect; that is: great amounts of steamy sex, an interesting plot (well, at least it will keep you entertained), and best of all, hot women.

Keli Mc Carthy looks at her best with long dark hair. She's a babe. She's always been, but in this movie she's just spectacular, stunning. Tracy Ryan is hot and sensual as always. Flower also impresses with her sexiness and ability to get undress very fast! And the girls got Sebastien Guy who is in my opinion one of the best actors in this genre. He's really a cool guy.

The sex scenes are steamy and long. We get boy-girl , and girl to girl action. My favorite sequence is when Keli Mc Carthy's character seduces Sebastian Guy while being taped by the security system. The scene is sexy and intense. Also, Keli looked extremely sexy with that mini dress.

Watch this movie if you are looking for a good soft core sex flick or if you are a big Keli Mc Carthy fan like me.

You won't be disappointed but be sure to get the unrated version. The cable version is still great but lacks of some spicy sex sequences.

erotica at its finest
Bilnum34evr16 November 2001
There is only one reason someone would pick this up at your local video store----to see incredibly hot women! The unrated version is the only way to go. Once you see Tracy Ryan (the blonde) in this you will want to see all the rest of her movies. She is one of the most beautiful women in softcore erotica today. I won't even get into the plot of the movie because you simply do not watch a movie like this for the plot, you watch it to see the very hot and erotic sex scenes and this movie delivers. If you are loooking for a movie with the hottest sex scenes possible this one is definitely a contender,

Plot C- Sex a (very steamy) Women A (Esp. Tracy!!!)

For horny guys only
axellaj11 September 2004
Showtime is doing a free trial with my cable company, and thank god, because I wouldn't have paid a cent to see this movie!

The acting was pretty horrible (especially the people who played Ben and Caitlin - more wooden than my dining room table), the dialog ridiculous. I felt like I was watching the movie version of "Men's Sexual Fantasies".

Example: A guy goes to a woman's house to hit on her, but she's not interested and walks out the door, leaving him there... And her sexy roommate calls him out to the patio, where she's lounging by the pool with another hot chick. She wants to know, if he's not busy, would he mind filming her and her girlfriend having sex? Yeah, I know lots of guys would get off on that scene. And it happens so often in real life, too...

I wouldn't have been so hard on this if it were a regular porn flick. Then I'd have no expectations about the acting or the script... But this thing tries to sell itself as a movie, and it comes up way short.

This would probably be very entertaining for lonely guys who are home alone, who haven't had a date in a long time. Teenage boys will love it.

Ratings-wise, I'd give it a -5.
