Nice Spanish Movie
liveheroes29 December 2002
I saw this movie on television one night and I really liked it. It's just a mediocre television movie in Spanish, but it's way better than most American romantic comedies... the central character is a young Spanish girl who gets acquainted with an flower selling immigrant from India (or Pakistan). He falls in love with her and she's curious about how a relationship between them would turn out... It isn't serious. It's a comedy. And that's what makes it so watchable. It's not about 'look how difficult intercultural relations can be'. It's more like 'look how funny intercultural relations can be'.

Love and different cultures
kataklizma21 June 2002
The story happens in catalonian capitol, beautiful and lively Barcelona and it shows the love between a young catalonian writer of erotic stories Gabi and a decent, good guy Jalil who comes from India and sells flowers. But Gabi's freethinking doesn't correspond with her fiance's conservatism who is on top of all a muslim. Her mom and sisters, friends and long forgotten ex-boyfriend don't approve this relationship. The movie is an urban comedy. It is a debut of a young director Isabel Gardela which despite easiness doesn't run away from problems like imigration.
