BBC Two celebrates its 50th anniversary this weekend and we've been asking our readers for their fondest memories and favourite ever shows from the channel.
Here is just a small sample of your replies.
The Day Today - Snossis
"No one's mentioned The Day Today! Groundbreaking stuff! Also, I'm Alan Partridge was probably the best sitcom of the 90s."
Robot Wars was the start of the weekend! - Bassebuwa
"Everyone born in the late 80s/early 90s will remember having their tea in front of The Simpsons, Fresh Prince and - to mark the start of the weekend - Robot Wars. BBC Two used to be incredible. It's a shame it's now a shadow of its former self."
Bring back Red Dwarf! - Pointy
"Red Dwarf and The Mary Whitehouse Experience meant a lot to the 11-year-old me. Thank you, BBC Two."
I miss BBC Ceefax - Kessuki
"Buffy The Vampire Slayer,...

As The Adventure Game arrives at the BBC Store, we revisit an 80s children's TV classic that spawned countless imitators...
Four of the original six episodes of The Adventure Game are now finally available to buy at the BBC Store.
See related Arrow season 5 exclusive: Kevin Smith talks Onomatopoeia Arrow season 4 episode 23 review: Schism Legends Of Tomorrow: exploring season 1’s cliffhanger ending Supergirl: Melissa Benoist talks season 1 cliffhanger, impending crossovers
Take three 80s TV stars, a generous dash of Dungeons & Dragons and a healthy sprinkling of brain-numbing tasks and you have a game show recipe that left guests mystified, mortified and all-too-often vaporised, thanks to transmorphic dragons, green cheese rolls and the Vortex. Yep, we've finally got around to talking about The Adventure Game.
It’s funny how you never seemed to question TV concepts when you were little, especially if it was the BBC.

That’s why, from mid-way through 1980 up until 1986, no one asked why the likes of Keith Chegwin, Sarah Greene, and Noel Edmonds would suddenly become celebrity time travellers, heading ‘many light years away to the far side of the galaxy’ to pay an unwelcome visit to the dragon-like Argons, the polite but mischievous inhabitants of the planet Arg.

We human beings have a strange way of dealing with getting older. It happens at the point of milestone birthdays, so when the Big 40 morphs ominously into the Big 50 it's a hell of a shock, and then worse still, it turns devilishly into 65. And so on. Someone asked me the other day how I'd be celebrating my next milestone birthday, which is only a couple of years away – at which point I just started bawling so loudly the sobs could be heard 100 miles away.
Slightly less wussy people tend to forget about the misery of big birthdays by inviting the world and his wife to a great big party. More often than not, these events are not so much the happy-go-lucky kiddy parties from golden ages gone by, more one long booze-up with enough alcohol to make even Phil Mitchell raise his eyebrows. Friends and family congregate in a musty...

London -- Channel 4 chief executive David Abraham has wooed BBC1 head Jay Hunt to be his new chief creative officer -- in a move that will see the well-liked acting chief creative officer and Channel 4 head Julian Bellamy quit the broadcaster after "a short period of transition."
Hunt, described as "a fearless creative leader" by Abraham, will join early next year and will also be an executive member of the Channel 4 board.
She will combine all programming functions with multiplatform commissioning and product development for the first time at Channel 4 and be responsible for setting up a new dialog with advertisers and producers.
The appointment follows what Channel 4 described as "an extensive global search" in which Bellamy is thought to have been one of a number of candidates.
"Channel 4 requires a fearless creative leader to help steer us through our next phase and Jay...

“Tardis,” the third episode in the Doctor Who: The Adventure Game series, will release worldwide later this week. The first two entries, as Us fans will recall, released in America quite a while after they did in the UK. Thankfully, the BBC showed mercy upon us uncultured Americans and went for a simultaneous release this time out.
According to the press materials, “Tardis” takes place entirely within the Doctor’s beloved blue box and feature areas of it we haven't seen before. “'Since 1963, kids have wondered what it would be like to control the Tardis,” says Executive Producer Steven Moffet. “Now we're handing complete control of the most powerful ship in all of space and time to a generation of children. Everybody duck!”
If you’re in the UK, you likely already know you can pick up the game here on Friday. Those in the Us may purchase it on...

Of all the giant robots in the world, Voltron has been one of the most overlooked when it comes to video games. In honor of the classic cartoon series' 25th anniversary, however, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will be testing the gaming waters of the iPhone, iPod touch and other mobile devices with a "Voltron: Defender of the Universe" game, simply titled "Voltron."
The adventure game will retail between $2.99 and $9.99, according to IGN. Verizon, At&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Boost, Alltel and Us Cellular subscribers will have access to it somewhere within that range.
Followers of the animated series and comics will note that the adventure stars the classic lion Voltron -- not to be confused with Vehicle Voltron or the lesser known Camera Voltron. The Voltron team will combat evil Robeasts in 2D, wielding such weapons such as the Lion Saber, Blazing Sword or Argon Force Field as they slice through King Zarkon's armies.
