The best of the reality series crop is back, with 12 teams of 2 players each racing around the world, trying not to be eliminated at a series of checkpoints in which the last team to arrive is booted from the show. CBS chooses teams with relationships containing at least some tension, especially when the situation involves intense pressure. This season includes such duos as two circus clowns, a gay married couple, a father and son, a recently engaged couple, married couples, and best friends.Written by
Sarah (Season 10) reported in a post-race interview on "The Finish Line" that because of the Roadblock in the first leg a single team member could do a maximum of 7 Roadblocks instead of the usual 6 (as has been in place from Season 6). This rule was never mentioned on the show, although Karlyn performed 7 aired Roadblocks. See more »
Flipped Shot: When Chip and Kim deliver the chairs in Mto Wa Mbu in the episode "Are You Sure This Is Safe?" there's a child wearing a Pokemon shirt which is shown as a mirrored image. This is done on a lot on reality shows where licensed clothing is visible in order to get around licensing issues. Also, it's easier to flip the image than to blur it out. See more »

During the opening credits, quick shots of locations can be seen, hinting at which countries the race will visit. In Season 6, quick shots include the Nordic Hotel Ice Bar (Stockholm, Sweden) and the Brandenburg Gate (Germany). See more »
Even though it is still going on I am enjoying this season of The Amazing Race... So far my favorite season was number 5. The reason for this is that they really went all over the world, Brazil, Argentina, Egypt, Dubai... The family edition is a really good idea, since most of the people that watch the show are families. The only thing that I think they should start doing is to SEND THEM AROUND THE WORLD!! so far it has been only inside the united states, the purpose of the show is for the teams to race around the world. It makes it more interesting! So even though I am enjoying the season I just wish that they would hurry up and go somewhere else other than the States... Really good show though, probably one of the best reality shows ever.
