When production companies release news of future projects to come, fans and the media start spinning the wheel of speculation on who will direct and compose the music for the films. Of course, one of the biggest things that always gains the most attention is which actors and actresses will be chosen as the jodi for the film. For many fans it can be that pairing that will make or break any film more than the lack of script or direction. With Bollywood’s continuing affair with screen romance fans have been treated to some epic jodis like Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in Ddlj and more recently Akshay Kumar and Anushka Sharma, which proved to be the crutch of Patiala House. We also loved the jodi of newcomers Saqib Saleem & Saba Azad in Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge. While there have been many that have dazzled in the past,...

Dev Goel, Sanjay Dutt and Adah Sharma on the sets of Pri And Me
Sanjay Dutt does a friendly appearance in Dev Goel’s Pri And Me as he is considered to be a lucky mascot by the director
Sanjay Dutt stars in Jyotin Goel’s (of Safari 1999 fame) upcoming romantic comedy Pri And Me. The film also stars Adah Sharma, Dev Goel, Juhi Chawla, Chunky Pandey to name a few. Dutt plays a police officer in the film and is considered to be a lucky mascot by director Goel. However, sources say that Sanjay Dutt plays a cameo in the film. This should be bad news to Adah Sharma (of 1920 2008 fame) who won’t be getting many chances to shoot with Dutt as she is a die hard fan of Dutt since her school days.
The film is produced under the banner Goel Screencraft and is slated for a release late this year.

Greetings New Music Mix Readers. You may have noticed I took a brief hiatus from my bi-weekly roundups. Well this past month I participated in a show on MTV that will be airing this summer. Check back on AfterElton.com once it airs as I’ll be recapping my experience and filling you all in on the inside gossip.
On February 28th, I had the chance to catch Lady Gaga and Scissor Sisters in Chicago at the United Center on Gaga’s second North American leg of her Monster Ball Tour. I must say that if you have the chance to go see her perform, take it. She is undoubtedly one of the best entertainers of our time.
While this was my second time catching a Lady Gaga performance it was my first Scissor Sisters one. In the last year I’ve become an ever-increasing fan of the sexiness that...

In a career spanning more than two decades, film maker Jyotin Goel has directed only three films - Inam Dus Hazar (1987), Zahreelay (1990) and Safari (1999). Incidentally, each of the three films has featured Sanjay Dutt in the lead. However, Jyotin Goel has now moved on and for his next film, he has chosen animation characters instead of opting for 'real' actors. The film is titled Bird Idol (an obvious inspiration from hugely popular 'Indian Idol') and tells the story of a bird which enters a namesake competition. Says Jyotin Goel, "We are aiming at the family audience as a whole for Bird Idol because animation films have a wide spectrum worldwide. I am sure this movie will not just be loved by children but also their family members. It is a heart warming beautiful story which will melt their hearts." Made in 3D animation, Bird Idol is presented by Warner Bros.

Chances are you've never seen a wholphin (a rare hybrid of dolphin and false killer whale), or a Wholphin, the short film DVD magazine emanating on a subscription basis from the Dave Eggers/McSweeney's publishing factory. But it might be the most relentlessly fascinating and inventive showcase for new short films in the country. Not that it has much competition . shorts can appear haphazardly on auteurist-minded DVDs or on public television or the Sundance Channel, but otherwise there's no dependable cultural outlet for them, and they are for the most part considered cinema non grata in the culture at large. Movies began in the short form, but quickly shorts became nothing more than ballast for features, and then, come the '60s, were not even that. (Anthology-style TV series may count . think of each "Twilight Zone" episode as a 24-minute short . but look how that format has...
