As far as onscreen villains go, Prashant Narayanan's portrayal of Dheeraj Pandey, a self-turned eunuch and a psychopath serial killer in Murder 2 is by far the most fear-provoking. Prashant switches shades like a chameleon in the film and makes your spine chill when he sings 'Kitna mazaa aaya. Tere tukde karoon chaar' while killing his victims. Prashant started off by assisting Art Director Samir Chanda and worked on films like Govind Nihalani's Rukmavati Ki Haveli, Subhash Ghai's Saudagar and Shyam Benegal's Sardari Begum. He got his first break in Hansal Mehta's Chhal and went on to deliver power packed performances in films like Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II, Shadows Of Time, Yeh Saali Zindagi and Bhindi Baazaar Inc. Even though this gifted actor was appreciated for his performances in these films, none of these films were successful at the box office, but Murder 2...

Well Done Abba
Well Done Abba has turned out to be a sort of a tragedy. Yes, it’s a satirical take on our system, more particularly how government schemes actually become cash cows for corrupt officials while the targeted beneficiaries – the common man – remain as poorly off as ever. It even raises occasional laughs, if not guffaws, through its ironic representation of all the loopholes in the system that are exploited to the hilt by those who are part of it. The victim being, the common man, in this case Armaan Ali of Chikkatpally near Hyderabad, who ekes out a living by driving the luxurious car of a well-off businessman in Mumbai and has a perky daughter back home to look after. With a gamut of characters that reflect the rot in the system in the backdrop of the growing lack of access to water across the nation, Well Done Abba,...

But Kareena's ghost haunts not just Deepika Padukone's presence in the film. Saif's character in a bizarre so-far undisclosed way is also wedded to Kareena. It now comes to light that in one segment of the film, Saif plays Rishi Kapoor who happens to be Kareena's uncle in real life. And when we say Saif 'plays' Rishi Kapoor, we mean Rishi Kapoor's character grows younger in the plot to become Saif. This isn't the first time that two actors have played the same character. Smriti Mishra and Kirron Kher played two phases in the life of Shyam Benegal's Sardari Begum. But they were not connected the way Saif and Rishi are by Kareena. Without giving away the plot a source discloses,...
